Happy 2022! (And the verdict is in — this is definitely not going to be 2020 too),
We hope you all had a replenishing holiday season, and appreciate you being patient with us through December when we took a bit of a break. But we’re back now, and raring to go! There’s lots of BIG NEWS in this newsletter, so stick with us till the end.
Product
It has taken us a while to get here, but it’s finally arrived! We have just launched our Classic line with the Classic Cappuccino. We thought we’d tell you the story behind why we decided to make these. After delving into all things Indian coffee, we were on the hunt for specialty drinkware that was made in India. Frustrated that the generic ‘coffee mug’ seemed to be the only choice, we decided to spend a little time and research to design these custom made cups as homage to our favourite drink. Indian design is unique, and deserves showcasing through the modern coffee movement. With a capacity of 200ml, they are ideal for cappuccinos and flat whites.
Everything ārāmse stands for is slowing down and being present, which means products should stand the test of time during this journey, too. Finished with entirely food-grade glazes, and fired between 1200 - 1300 degrees celsius, these cups are durable and resistant to fading. The texture of these cups allow for a truly immersive experience, and a real treat for all of your senses. These are produced in small batches of 50 to ensure minimal waste, and are entirely handmade in பாண்டிச்சேரி (Pondicherry). We are currently shipping across India. After getting a lot of international requests, we are now accepting orders on a case by case basis, so if you are interested just send us an email on brew@aramse.coffee.
YouTube
We’re back to creating content, and our first video this month zooms out a little, and takes a look at what coffee tasting means and how to approach it. While this video is beginner-friendly, there are useful tidbits in there for more seasoned tasters and cuppers too. Sensory training is a mindful skill that can elevate how you experience food and drink. We hope you enjoy this video, silly antics and all!
Subscription
After the last few months of big updates to the subscription, we’re happy to report that things are operating smoothly and we continue to steadily grow our customer base. Something fun for those of you subscribed with us, is that you can now expect Kapi Kottai coffees from February onwards. With most roasters now roasting the latest green coffee harvest, there are fresh and exciting coffees in store for the start of 2022.
We have gotten a ton of requests about gifting subscriptions, and will be updating this space next month, so stay tuned. In the meantime, if you do want to send someone a gift for Valentines’ Day or just because it’s Tuesday, really, then please hit us up and we have a manual workaround (it’s not as cumbersome as it sounds!)
🔬Nerds Corner
Did you know WDT stands for Weiss Distribution Technique and uses thin needles to distribute coffee grounds evenly before brewing espresso. But that’s not all, it works great of other brewing methods too like pour overs and even South Indian filter coffee.
